Her earliest memory is of the Road of Sacrifices. Of her own sandaled feet. The blisters, the blood. Pond water infecting wounds, the whip singing through the air. Then came the gold-trimmed gowns of white. Incense smoke, rosewater, prayer. Low sonorous voices praising the Deep. More blood. Anri served as an acolyte, and watched as her fellow children were sacrificed – consumed – one by one. Saint Aldrich the man-eater was never satiated.

It was with her hand in Horace’s that she escaped slaughter, racing through the woods while bells tolled their betrayal, as hunters and their hounds followed in their wake. How fortunate they were to fall under the service of Ryland of Astora. His tutelage saw Anri and Horace learn to wield steel. Eventually they travelled to the smouldering heart of Ryland’s ruined homeland. Together, they slayed the dark spirit, the memory of which lives on in the Ring of the Evil Eye.

Ryland gave his life, and Anri donned her fallen mentor’s armour. Determined to drive back the shadow of the Abyss, Anri sacrificed herself to link the Flame, but was rejected, deemed unworthy kindling. Once again risen, with Horace at her side, she seeks only one Lord – Saint Aldrich, who must pay for his gluttony and cruelty, along with those who aided and abetted him. Vengeance is delivered in the name of innumerable dead children.

Halla, the mother of Vilkas and Farkas, died shortly after their birth. Overcome with grief, their father Jergen was detached, distant, and eventually chose to leave them in the care of Jorrvaskr while he served in the Great War. They were young, too young to truly know him, and when Jergen failed to return Farkas did not feel the bitter bite of loss. The Companions became his family and he still had his brother, upon whom his entire world was built.

The brothers fought with wooden swords, before moving onto blunted steel, and it was clear from an early stage that Farkas would be the larger and stronger of the pair. Farkas was fascinated by the SKYFORGE. and took a place at the anvil as soon as he was able. Lessons in reading and writing were a burden to the younger twin, who failed to grasp his letters. Vilkas, however, excelled. At 15, Farkas became a Companion – the youngest in history. At 20, he was invited into the Circle. With that came the beast-blood.

Farkas was hesitant to contract
lycanthropy, and looked to his brother for example. Vilkas seemed keen that they accept this gift of Hircine and so the younger twin dutifully submitted. He will take no action to remedy himself unless Vilkas does so first. Now, Farkas’ days are dictated by routine, given over to training, to his work. He strives to bring honour to the Companions, to live righteously, and to make his brother proud.
